How to #IntroduceAnExpert

It’s a sad fact but far too many of us play down our specialism and don’t recognise the impact we have on others in our lives. Saying you’re an expert is not about ego, but rather recognising our ability to transform other people’s lives, businesses or situations by applying our unique set of skills and perspective. 

#IntroduceAnExpert is a campaign designed to drawing attention to those around us who deserve to be recognised for the great work that they do. For some this will be a very welcome boost to their confidence as well as extra exposure for their business.

Taking part is really simple.

All you need to do is decide who you want to nominate and post on social media using the #introduceanexpert.  Once they have been nominated they too will #payitforward by nominating their expert.

As the leaders of the campaign we will boost your post by sharing it on our social pages, a weekly round up blog and within our email newsletter.

Get Started

  1. Choose which social media platform you want to use (Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn) A good idea is to consider your Expert’s business and which platform his/her prospects tend to use the most so it can actually create new business for them.
  2. Write your message telling us: 1) Why they came to mind 2) What they are an expert in, including their business name 3) What impact they have had on your life or those around you
  3. Make sure to tag them in the post When writing the message use @ before you begin typing their name and select their profile from the suggestions the platform predicts. If they have a business page be sure to use @ before the company name so again you can tag it.
  4. Use a photo Either their professional photo or if possible a selfie of the two of you
  5. Insert the #introduceanexpert within your post This will mean we will be able to find it as well as anyone else looking for the results of this campaign. We want this to go viral and perhaps attract journalist attention maximising exposure for everyone taking part.
  6. Tag us in the post (if you wish) Simply make sure you’re following our page on your chosen platform and then write @ before our company name.
  7. Let the person know they should now nominate someone else in the last of the text space you have (depending on the platform) let them know they have 72 hours to nominate their expert.

Make Thursday Expert Day

Ideally we want to make Thursday our Expert Day so we can create a real buzz. After a while the campaign should take up a life of its own as one person nominates another.

So once you’ve organised your post why not load it up in Hootsuite or Buffer so it pings out automatically on Thursday. This way you won’t have to remember or carve time out to do it.
